Dr. Antonacci performed Spinal Fusion on my L-4, L-5 discs on August 1, 2011. In 2006, Dr. Antonacci performed a laminectomy on my Mom, who was 71 years old at the time. She couldn’t walk a block to the grocery store. After the surgery, she’s back to herself and doing her one- mile walk every morning, pain-free.
My symptoms were a constant and severe pain from lower back into right butt, radiating down leg, tingling in calf and a numb foot. I also had a terrible burning pain in lower back and spasms during sleep. I endured this for 8 months, thinking it was a pinched nerve and would get better with physical therapy.
When I finally sought treatment from Dr. Antonacci, and after CAT scan, MRI, etc., he diagnosed a collapsed disc. We scheduled a spinal fusion for August 1, 2011 in Mount Sinai in NYC. Dr. Antonacci, Dr. Cuddihy, an Joel, PA (Physician’s Assistant), explained the procedure very clearly and in words I could understand. My telephone calls to the office were always answered or promptly returned. They all genuinely cared.
When I awoke from the surgery, all pain from lower back to foot was gone. Gone! I was amazed. I didn’t realize how bad the pain was until I was free from it. Of course, when I awoke, the incision was a bit uncomfortable, but this has since disappeared.
It’s almost a month after surgery and I can’t believe I endured such pain and now it’s completely gone. My dogs couldn’t be happier now that they’re going for their walks again.
Aside from being a bit stiff in the morning, I feel like I never even had back surgery. Amazing. Thank you Dr. Antonacci, Dr. Cuddihy and Joel. You are angels on earth.
Warmly,
